Our Little Entertainer

T loves to dance. He hasn't figured out how to dance for more than a couple seconds at a time, but with or without music, whenever the mood suits him, he starts to put on the moves. This video is a little long, but you can get snippets of his repertoire.

We recently learned that he also likes to sing. Well, we knew he did since he's been humming along to any of us singing or the radio for awhile, but when we turned on Rock Band and gave him the microphone, he couldn't get enough.

Who knows, maybe he'll one day be an American Idol. =)

The Stomach Bug

We all got hit with a super stomach bug. T got it first and passed it on to Daddy, Mommy, Anna, Lolo, Lola... seriously, we all got it.

Tyler started crying in the middle of the night about 2 weeks ago. It was unusual for him, but we figured he just had a bad dream and would go back to sleep. It took him about 30 minutes, but he went to sleep. When we went to get him in the morning, he woke up as usual, but he had thrown up in his crib. =( Still, since he seemed fine, we assumed it was just something he had eaten the night before.

We were wrong.

Mommy, not taking it seriously, took T to his first gymnastics class where he had a great time. Then, while we were out at Crissy Field having lunch with The Posse, he proceeded to projectile vomit on Mommy. Thankfully, none of The Posse got sick. Mommy also had made a precautionary appointment with the pediatrician so we went, smelling foul. The doc warned Mommy that she should expect more puking and diarrhea. Oh, she was right about the puking.... on the way home, T threw up all of lunch on himself in the car and then twice while taking a bath with Mommy. Ahhhh... the joys of being a parent.

This is probably the most miserable he has been, but he recovered enough in a few days to wish Lolo a happy 70th birthday and make a good appearance at his surprise birthday party (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOLO!), but then ended up having the worst meltdown of his 17 months of life the next night when we went to dinner for Lolo's actual birthday. Mommy had to actually leave the restaurant and take T home. It was something else.

Thankfully, he has now made a full recovery and is back to his fun, mischievous self. Phew. Lessons learned by Mommy - take vomiting more seriously and do not force your child to eat when he/she might have a stomach bug. You might be wearing it later.

First Major Boo Boo

Last Wednesday, we made our first visit to the ER. Thankfully, it wasn't anything too major - T just lost his big toe nail. He's a super fast kid and tried to escape Peekadoodle which led him to get his toe caught in a big door. Ouch.

We went to the pediatric ER at CPMC, where he was born. They were amazing. We were quickly brought in and while we waited for a doctor, a "child life" person came in with a binder full of DVDs for T to choose from. We chose to watch Little Einsteins and he was comfortable as he waited. The child life person even brought bubbles!

Here's a video of him hanging out with Lolo after the doctor removed the nail (it was pretty much off).

And a photo of his toe all bandaged up.

He gave us a scare but he's fine now. It's just an ugly toe nail bed, but the nail should grow back. Besides, I doubt he had "foot model" in his future. :)

Hola, Mexico

We spent a few fun days down in Mexico to attend Kristy and Bryan's wedding. Congrats, you guys!

This was T's first plane ride since we went to the Philippines back in December. He's grown a lot since then! Traveling with him as a "lap child" isn't easy anymore. It might be time to buy him his own seat.... Thankfully, though, he was still a good sport for the most part despite the nightmare of getting down to Cancun/Playa del Carmen. We had a connection in Dallas, which ended up being an overnight stay with a brief gas stop in Wichita Falls, TX, due to weather issues in Dallas. In any case, we got to to Mexico one day late and even got to check out the Atlanta airport - yay (not!)!

Enough about the traveling part, let's get to Mexico. Some things haven't changed since the last time we were somewhere tropical (Boracay) - T still loves the beach, ocean and pool. The kid has no fear. Here are some pics of T enjoying the beach.

And the pool.

T had so much fun that he would only take one nap while we were there (he is still on 2 naps a day) and would therefore have to pass out during all of the evening activities after he partied (this kid is going to be a party animal - I'm fearing it). Thankfully, he would sleep in our arms. Here are the photos to prove it.

Our partier at the rehearsal.

The next day at the wedding (Daddy got in a little nap too).

At our last dinner at a Mayan restaurant.

Something to look forward to - there should be a video made by Daddy in the near future. In the meantime, here are some random vacation photos.

Weekend with Daddy

On the weekend of April 29 - May 1, Mommmy went away on a girl's weekend to Denver with Aunties Em, Jeannie, Jen and Sarah. So, Daddy got to spend the whole weekend by himself with T. =) He had a little help from Tita Len and Tito Mickey, as well as Lola, but for the most part, Daddy got to spend quality time with Tyler from Friday evening until Mommy came home late Sunday afternoon.

Daddy had so much fun that he documented the whole weekend and made a video. Mommy should go away more often so the boys can play. =)
