They're Growing Up

Yesterday, we went to a newish play space in San Bruno called Diddledoo with The Posse. It has been awhile since we'd all gotten together and it was surprising to see how much the kiddos have grown. It doesn't seem so long ago when we were all at Day One, sitting around in a circle, while the kids worked on their tummy time. Now, they are running around and having conversations with each other. They are even able to sit around their own kids table for lunch. So cute!

Haircut and a Lollipop

T's hair was looking a little shaggy so I asked him if he wanted to get a haircut and lollipop today. He said,"Yes!" I asked him if he would rather get a smoothie and go to the park and he said, "Haircut first, then park."

We weren't sure if he was seriously about the haircut but we walked over there anyway and as soon as we walked in he said, "Haircut!" and followed the hairdresser to her station and climbed into her seat. He sat through the entire cut with a lollipop in his mouth and barely complained. How our boy has grown.

Why?

T's favorite sentences are:

1. Whatcha' doin'?
2. What's that?

And he'll keep asking, even if you give him an answer. Especially the first question.

But, last night, at the dinner table he asked the big question, "Why?"

The New Ride

We now own 3.5 strollers (the 0.5 is the one we are borrowing that Emma has almost grown out of).

Why do we need so many, you ask?

Well, we have our main one which is the Uppababy Vista. It handles really well but is on the heavier side so a pain to load in the car and take places. Also, although we can put a second seat on it one kid ends up looking at the back of the other seat so it's not all that comfy. It has a great standing board for T but he's very finicky about it and if he decides that he doesn't want to stand on it while we are out we are stuck carrying one kid and pushing the other. A good work out but not fun.

Next, we have the Maclaren Triumph umbrella stroller. Handles decent and is super light compared to the Uppa, but only carries one kid so the other has to walk (which would be T, obviously).

So, we (that would be me) decided we needed a lightweight side by side stroller. Like all things kid related, there are a million options with all sorts of price points. But, I found a good deal on a well reviewed stroller and decide to add to the collection. We took it for a test spin today and it didn't maneuver anything like our other 2 strollers, but for the price and the amount of use it'll get, it will do. Most importantly, the kids seem to like it.

Making His Own Lunch

Today we had a Japanese lunch of miso soup and salmon onigiri (rice balls) which T made on his own (we cheated by using a mini-onigiri mold).

Meeting Mommy's Middle School Teacher

Today we got to catch up briefly with Mommy's middle school teacher, Ms. Pong (Ursula), and her daughter Kilani and husband Marcel. Mommy had Ms. Pong as her dance and home economics teacher between 1988-1992 in Singapore. That's right, she met her when she was 10 (?!), younger than Kilani who is now 12. Times does fly by.

We didn't have much time so we met up with them at their hotel in Palo Alto where they are staying while Kilani goes to volleyball camp at Stanford. It was great seeing Ms. Pong and meeting her family. Tyler loved running around with Kilani too.

Hopefully, we'll get to see them again soon for a longer period of time!

I gave Emma a whole peach today. She devoured it. She ate the whole thing.

Too Much?

Lately, T has been refusing to take a bath so to keep everyone happy we only make him take one every other day, unless he got dirty and needs one on the off day.

Today was bath day. T got in the tub with Emma and they were having a good time splashing and laughing. We tried to take E out a couple times but T kept saying, "Emma bath," so we let them keep playing. E laughs the loudest when she is playing with T and it's the best thing to watch. How could I deny them that fun? :)

So, we are all having a good time when, suddenly, I see something start floating to the surface of the water. I'm not sure what it is at first but then it hits me. It's poop! Emma is pooping in the tub while cackling with laughter.

E had been having difficult bowel movements so I had been giving her prune with oatmeal (jar), dried prunes, and diluted apple juice to help her out. Since she hadn't pooped since Thursday I had stepped up my efforts. Apparently, I helped her out too much since her bath poop was the third of the day and she had one yesterday. Oops.

Thankfully Christian was home and close by so he took T out and showered him. I then showered Emma off and everyone survived. Hopefully, this won't deter T from taking another bath....

She Likes to Eat

For dinner today Emma had spaghetti seasoned with butter and garlic, zucchini sautéed in butter, and some prunes. She ate it all up.
