Partying by Himself

Tyler went to his first drop off birthday party and had a blast.

His classmate, Maya, had her 4th birthday party at My Gym in San Carlos tonight. Being that it's Friday evening, Daddy wasn't going to be home early enough to watch Emma, but we were told kids could be dropped off so we ran the idea by T and he was game.

I was still a little concerned that he might not want me to leave when we got there, but the minute we arrived he was ready to play. He left my side with just a quick bye.

Poor Emma. She wanted to also stay and play but instead we went to check out the nearby Korean restaurant. The food was pretty good, Emma loved it, and we learned to play some new games together. It was a nice date.

When we went back to pick T up the party had been extended by about 30 minutes and the kids were just sitting for cake. Of course, Emma wanted some, and T was happy to share. He was also happy to leave half his cake to go back and play. Emma was in heaven. She didn't care to play, she just wanted cake.

Party crasher. :)

It's nice to watch T becoming an independent guy, making friends, and enjoying them. He's a pretty social kid and I hope he always stays that way.

Emma Otanjobi (Birthday) at School

A few days late, but Emma got to celebrate her birthday at school today. She came home with this card.

T's Wishlist

T and I went on a date today to Target :). He had a fever (101.3 but otherwise fine except for a cough) so he got to skip school (the school wants kids to be symptom free for at least 24 hours). So, while Emma was at school, we did some window shopping.

With the holidays and his birthday around the corner we decided to start an Amazon wish list for him. Not that he needs anything on the list - it was really more of a way to pass the time while we were at Target without him wanting to take something home. It was fun looking at toys and scanning them in.

Definitely a good way to pass the time without getting anything. And a way to motivate him to do things - incentives. :)

But, more importantly, it was fun hanging out with just T. It's been awhile since we did that since he has been in school. We are going to have to have another date again soon.

Super Lola

The other night we went to Pacifica to celebrate Uncle Ramir's birthday (Happy birthday!). Since I knew we would stay late, I packed the kids PJs so they could bathe there and head straight to bed when we got home.

Lola offered to give the kids, including Cobi, a bath. 1 adult, 3 kids. She is Super Lola. :)

Thank you Lola for being so great!

Pajama Day for T

It was "Pajama Day" at school for T. Since yesterday was Halloween, the assumption was kids would be up late so to make everyone comfortable and happy the kids got to where their pajamas.

T wore the pajamas he wore the night before to school (except for the bottoms which got dirty before we left home). He was excited.

Here are a few pics of him at school in his PJs.

Tyler and his new class pic

Tyler's Preschool Pictures 2013

I had to share them all because... I just had to. =)  It's crazy how quickly he has grown.  In 3 more months he'll be 4.  FOUR.  How did that happen?  He loves school every day and sure, he's gotten a few time outs, but we've also been told that he is very intuitive and has great focus when working on projects.  He recently sang "Hey there Delilah" for everyone and the teachers thought it was the cutest thing ever.  He is quite the performer and charmer.

Looking forward to starting our school picture collection... before we know it, he'll be in a cap and gown and off to college.

Emma loves the swing!

Emma's Style

Today Emma picked out boots to wear. I then thought I'd get a headband on her. I hadn't tried in a long time because she's always pulled them off. She kept it on. She even decided that walking in this type outfit required a hand in her pocket. :)

6am

For what seems like weeks, Emma was waking up around 5am. And, instead of being put in her crib at night and rolling over to sleep, she started to cry and put up a fight. It's been brutal - especially the early mornings.

But, something happened Sunday morning and she got up at 6am, and now we are in day 3. Hallelujah! I don't know if its psychological or what, but anything before 6am is just not acceptable.

And, this morning, although she woke up at 555am, she didn't fuss much and was content in her crib until we went to get her around 630am. It was amazing.

Hopefully this will last at least several weeks but we know to simply enjoy sleep when we can. The kids keep us on our toes and like to change it up in us. :)

1/2 Way Done with Potty Training

Without any effort on our part, Emma seems to have successfully potty trained herself with pooping. It's been awhile since we changed a poop diaper and she has no problems pooping in public/other peoples bathrooms. She now needs to work on peeping and we will be all done with diapers. How about that?

These are her poop faces. :)

Tyler and Lucas

Despite being in the Bay Area, the last time I saw my friend Cathy (whom I have known since 6th or 7th grade?) and her son Lucas might have been at his 1st birthday party. He is now 3 (6 months younger than T).

Thanks to Richard being in town (another friend from Singapore who I've known since before Cathy) and sharing his whereabouts on Facebook, we were able to get together for a couple of hours down in Palo Alto.

Tyler and Lucas enjoyed each others company. We definitely have to make sure we see them again much sooner than 2 years from now.

A Night with Anna

Now that the kids are in school 5 days a week, we decided to ask Anna to come and sit for us one night a week so that we can have a date night. So far we have only had 2 nights off but it's been great. We love the kids but sometimes we need a break.

The kids seem to love the time they get to spend with Anna as well. Here are some pics that she has shared from the past 2 occasions.
