Pre -K Star of the Week
Tyler has been "Star of the Week" this week. It's a little different than last year (http://cruzinwithtyler.blogspot.com/2014/04/tyler-star-of-week.html?m=1). This year, we got some stars to put pictures or words for some of this favorite things. Much easier than an elaborate poster board.
His favorite thing to do is play with Daddy. His favorite place is the beach. His favorite colors are all colors. His favorite food is noodles and all sorts of other things. His pet is Kotaro. And he wants to be a doctor like Daddy when he grows up.
Every day he got to bring a show and tell. He brought a remote control car, a basketball, a sushi transformer toy, and a car.
Like last year, there is a treat to be handed out on his last day, Friday. For the treat, we decided to go with a Halloween theme. Since oranges are one of his favorite things, we drew pumpkin faces on them for his friends (assuming the sharpie on the skin is ok...).
Happy "Star of the Week"!

Still Napping
There will be a day soon when T will no longer need a nap. It is slowly happening - there are afternoons when he stays in our room (where he naps) for a given period of time and rolls around trying to sleep hoping to earn 2 sticks (10 minutes of game time). But, thankfully, most days he still sleeps and I love seeing his peaceful, sleeping face. :)

First Day of Pre-K
Another school year has started for T. He was super excited to be back at Merry Moppet and become a pre-kindergartener.
Here he is with Emma, ready to go.

Big smile upon entering his new classroom and seeing lots of familiar faces from last years class.

Had a great first day!

T's First Swim Race
T started to learn the back stroke yesterday. He then got to race a girl in another class. He's pretty good. It was a tight race.
Here he is practicing...

Tyler's 4 Year Check Up
41 1/4 inches (80 percentile) and 38 lbs (75 percentile). That's how big T is now. Growing well, full of energy, and personality. He's a strong kid in all respects and can be a challenge, but we love him as does Emma (who would do whatever he does but she is also rough with him).
Need to do an update on his birthday and birthday party but for now here he is getting some vaccinations. He was tough.

Partying by Himself
Tyler went to his first drop off birthday party and had a blast.
His classmate, Maya, had her 4th birthday party at My Gym in San Carlos tonight. Being that it's Friday evening, Daddy wasn't going to be home early enough to watch Emma, but we were told kids could be dropped off so we ran the idea by T and he was game.
I was still a little concerned that he might not want me to leave when we got there, but the minute we arrived he was ready to play. He left my side with just a quick bye.
Poor Emma. She wanted to also stay and play but instead we went to check out the nearby Korean restaurant. The food was pretty good, Emma loved it, and we learned to play some new games together. It was a nice date.
When we went back to pick T up the party had been extended by about 30 minutes and the kids were just sitting for cake. Of course, Emma wanted some, and T was happy to share. He was also happy to leave half his cake to go back and play. Emma was in heaven. She didn't care to play, she just wanted cake.

Party crasher. :)
It's nice to watch T becoming an independent guy, making friends, and enjoying them. He's a pretty social kid and I hope he always stays that way.

T's Wishlist
T and I went on a date today to Target :). He had a fever (101.3 but otherwise fine except for a cough) so he got to skip school (the school wants kids to be symptom free for at least 24 hours). So, while Emma was at school, we did some window shopping.
With the holidays and his birthday around the corner we decided to start an Amazon wish list for him. Not that he needs anything on the list - it was really more of a way to pass the time while we were at Target without him wanting to take something home. It was fun looking at toys and scanning them in.

Definitely a good way to pass the time without getting anything. And a way to motivate him to do things - incentives. :)
But, more importantly, it was fun hanging out with just T. It's been awhile since we did that since he has been in school. We are going to have to have another date again soon.
