Trick or Treat

Tyler's first "real" trick or treating experience. We went a block away - apparently it is the main trick or treating street around here. It was packed, but not crazy like last year at Fair Oaks. Last year T was a little too young to really get the idea of getting treats. This year he fully participated and even braved some scary costumes (at one house he was frozen on the steps stating at a gorilla). William, who joined us, even got scared by someone jumping out of a tree. At the end of the night though, both fire chiefs were happy.

Walkin'

She's gone and done it - she's taking steps now.  And she's loving it.  If you believe that milestones = sleep problems, it explains why she's been fighting her afternoon naps these past couple of days.  She just wants to get her move on.

Language

Tyler is talking up a storm now. It's not always easy to understand what he is saying, but he definitely knows what he's saying. One of my favorite phrases he says is, "No thank you, please." What a polite kid. :)

And he can read! Well, sort of. :). He seems to have some words memorized. The other day the computer showed a prompt and he asked me whether I wanted "yes" or "no." I told him "yes" and he moved the cursor, using the mouse, to "yes" and selected it. Not bad.

Emma is starting to say things, too. It's not totally clear what she is saying, but we think she says, "hi," "bye," "there," and "ball." She'll be talking before we know it too.

The Big Kid in the Mirror

He'll always be my baby, but he's growing up really fast. :(

Emma and a Fork

Our little lady can eat. She loves to eat. It's not surprising considering how much her parents like to eat. :)

She's slowly graduating from eating with her hands and has been eager to use utensils. So we practiced using a fork at lunch today.

Her aim is pretty good. Now she needs to work on forking and spooning her own food without the temptation of flipping her plate over. That's probably a couple of months away still....

(Excuse her runny nose)

Strike!

We took T's love of bowling to a whole new level when we bought an XBox and kinetic (a gaming device that senses body movements without any controllers). We have a future bowler on our hands.

A Girl and A Shoe

Before a girl can love shoes, she's got to learn to wear them.

Swimming Classes for T

We finally got around to putting T in a swim class. A semi-private one with William on Saturday mornings at Aqua Swim in San Mateo with Teacher Katherine. So far he has only had 2 classes but he is loving it. At their second class they got completely submerged under water so they could get toys off the bottom of the pool. There were no complaints.

What You Do to Me

Tyler's favorite song right now is "Hey there Delilah" by the White T's. We think it made the list from playing American Idol on the Playstation. He will burst into song at any moment and if we are at home he might even bust out his guitar.

According to Lolo, he can recognize the song within 3 beats (he made Lolo play the song while Christian and I spent the night in San Jose for our 4th anniversary). Pretty talented.

Here are a couple of performances.

Emma took a couple of steps today! We tried to get video, but she seemed to have gotten tired. Will have to keep trying.
