Garden Center

T has a book about growing a garden. We read it the other night and I asked him if he wanted to go to a garden center to buy some flowers. He said yes so we took a little field trip to the Orchard Hardware garden center. We walked around and looked at different plants and he chose small, yellow flowers. He thinks small flowers are "so cute" and loves the color yellow. We of course had to get something for Emma too. She wants to be just like her brother.

Kids and Restaurants

I love dining out. But, unfortunately, the kids don't love it as much. Usually, they start to get restless during meals and either need to walk around (more precisely be chased around) and/or given an electronic device to play with. So, even though we still go out often, it's not with the same joy as in the past.

But, today was different. T admitted it was hard to wait (we watched a Daniel Tiger episode today where he goes to the restaurant and has to wait and talks about it being hard), but he colored a little, talked a lot, ate, checked out the crowd and only played about 10 minutes on the iPad during a 1.5 hour plus meal. That's right - 10 minutes. Daddy and I were so impressed!

And, even though Emma stood up in her high chair a few times and needed to have my hand on her for most of the meal as well as constant attention, she even stayed seated.

It was AMAZING.

Thank you to Lolo and Lola for taking us all out to celebrate my upcoming birthday !!

Maybe knowing he'd get this at the end kept T behaved?

Emma did get upset when the ice cream was taken away

The Movies! (And the Mall)

T went to his first movie with Lolo and Lola today. He watched Croods. His review of the movie was that it was too long and that there was an egg chase.

He apparently sat through the first hour of the movie before needing a little break, but then returned to the theater to see the end. I'm not sure he's ready for another movie anytime soon even though he seems to have had a good time.

Popcorn is a must

While T was at the movie, Emma and I walked around the mall. She loved the space. And carrying a shopping bag.

But the mall is exhausting and before T was out she was hungry so we went ahead to the food court. But while we were waiting for our order she fell asleep in my arms. She was that tired.

Beach Day

One of the best things about living in the Bay Area is that we can have beach days in March. It's not bathing suit beach days but it's pleasant enough to go out, have a little picnic,
and play in the sand. The kids love it.

Swinging on a Saturday

Emma loves the swings. It's her favorite thing at the park. She will walk to it and ask to get in and loves going high.

Pizza Night

We had our first pizza night. The kids had fun playing with the dough and T liked topping his pizza. They came out pretty tasty. I think we will have more pizza nights.
