Wine Drinkers

Last night I got a bottle of wine out to open. While I was getting the opener, Emma tried to help me out, with a crayon. :)

Maybe the parents drink too much wine? At least the kids know its for grown ups only (that and coffee, most teas, and soda).

Emma's Sleep Training Progress

Night 3 was slightly different from night 2 but painless. E came out soon after I left but then didn't come out for a last time until about 10 minutes later. That was it.

But, last night.... I was at Targrt yesterday and saw a natural, nighttime cough medicine called Zarbees. She's got a cold. She has a cough. She doesn't sleep through the night so why not give it a try? The instructions said to give it 30 minutes before bed. She was out within 20 minutes. The best part - she didn't get up till 515am. Ok, that doesn't sound that great. It is, after all, super early, but I would consider that an entire night of uninterrupted sleep. Pretty amazing, especially since she has not slept through the night in probably 3 months.

We might have to try this Zarbees magic again tonight. :)

Oh, but it does seem she woke up too early. Check out this picture of her passed out in the car.

Day 2 of Emma's Sleep Training

5 minutes and 2 trips out of her crib. It was kind of unbelievable. I had to sit outside her door for an extra 10 minutes to make sure.

And, T has been letting Daddy put him to bed too.

Crazy.

Emma's Back to Sleep Training

Towards the end of 2013, Emma started to want someone to stay with her in her room to fall asleep. It's was no fun. Especially because she use to just let us put her in her crib, roll over, and go to bed. But, since we were going to go on a lengthy vacation that involved some serious jet lag, we decided to let it go and deal with it once we returned.

It's now been over a month since we have been back from our Asia vacation and someone has stayed in her room every night until she falls asleep and she has been coming into our room in the middle of the night and we have welcomed her into our bed because it is the easy thing to do.

No more. We are done. We haven't gotten a full nights sleep in too long so tonight sleep training commenced.

For about an hour I stayed outside her door and every time she came out I would escort her back to her crib. Not sure how many times we did this - maybe 15? She is a persistent little gal.

Hoping that as the nights go by this exercise will be shorter and shorter. And as she figures out how to go to sleep on her own at night she will figure out how to put herself back to sleep in her crib in the middle of the night.

Keeping fingers crossed. What else can we do? Oh - wish for sleep.

Tyler's 4 Year Check Up

41 1/4 inches (80 percentile) and 38 lbs (75 percentile). That's how big T is now. Growing well, full of energy, and personality. He's a strong kid in all respects and can be a challenge, but we love him as does Emma (who would do whatever he does but she is also rough with him).

Need to do an update on his birthday and birthday party but for now here he is getting some vaccinations. He was tough.
